Cutibacterium acnes (formerly Propionibacterium acnes) is the aerotolerant anaerobic, gram-positive bacterium linked to the skin condition of acne.

Propionibacterium acnes live deep within the follicles and pores of the human skin, not manifesting itself in most carriers. At the same time, Propionibacterium acnes is the main causative agent of the infectious form of acne.
